From a New York Boutique to a Fragrance House
Aedes de Venustas was founded in New York in 1995 as a destination for rare and independent perfumes.
Its name translates from Latin as “temple of beauty”, reflecting the founders’ interest in fragrance, objects, atmosphere and the pleasure of discovery.
After years spent selecting and presenting some of the most original names in artistic perfumery, Aedes de Venustas introduced its own fragrance collection in 2012.
The house works with internationally recognised perfumers to create compositions inspired by places, materials and vivid sensory impressions.
The Aedes de Venustas Fragrance Style
The collection explores ingredients with a clear and contemporary approach.
Rhubarb, iris, incense, woods, resins, tobacco, flowers and spices are developed through layered compositions that reveal themselves gradually on the skin.
Green notes may become darker and more textured. Woods acquire mineral or spicy facets. Floral materials are often paired with smoke, leather or earthy accords.
This balance between elegance, depth and originality gives Aedes de Venustas a recognisable place within modern artistic perfumery.
Signature Fragrances
Aedes de Venustas Signature introduced the house’s fragrance collection in 2012. Rhubarb, tomato leaf, red berries, vetiver and incense create a vivid green composition with an unusual sense of depth.
Iris Nazarena presents iris through incense, leather, juniper, ambrette and dry woods. The fragrance has a refined, composed and slightly mysterious character.
Copal Azur is inspired by copal resin and the landscapes of Central America. Incense, mineral notes and marine impressions create an atmospheric and luminous composition.
Palissandre d’Or develops the theme of precious woods through warm spices, aromatic facets and polished depth.
Cierge de Lune explores vanilla through floral, musky and woody notes. Its soft texture and darker undertones give it an intimate, enveloping presence.
The wider collection includes fragrances such as Grenadille d’Afrique, Pelargonium, Café Tabac, Encens Japonais, 16a Orchard and Corfu Kumquat.
